OLIVER!

OLIVER!

There are many good things in Wendy Holmes well choreographed production of hits perennial favorite. Particularly memorable is the feisty Nancy of Gilly Giles.  The ballad "As Long As He Need Me" is on of the highlights of the evening. Plenty of tingle factor here.

James Walters as Oliver has a quality of stillness and the ability to listen - a young actor to watch.

Jim Black was a gently bumbling Mr Bumble, he handled the dialogue with ease.

The Artful Dodger and Fagin must be two of the most sought after roles in musical comedy, as the light fingered Dodger and the comically craven Fagin, Nick Tomlinson and Jeff Coventry acquit themselves well.

Musical director David Lodge and the small but effective orchestra give a good account of the score.

With the excellent diction of Fagin's gang, the personable young dancers and the fine performance of Susannah Owen as Bet the future of the Wranglers Theatre Company is assured.
